What “I was told not to tell you” really means…

So another one of my favorite guru excuses for not actually knowing anything is the old, “I was told not to say anything” line. This makes it sound like they actually know something, when in reality it’s the same old nothing in disguise.

8-13-2024 MarkZ Question: What are the higher rates you are hearing Mark?  MarkZ:   I cannot tell you….but they are supposedly higher than I was previously sharing…. I was warned to stop sharing rates. You were warned to stop sharing rates, because you’ve been so dead on on the other rates you shared. Right…. Look, I will share this about the “don’t tell” calls. When we were running out site at SS3, I had a contact who was with a government agency we shall not name. He explained to me that sites were being monitored because of complaints about some of the abuses of vendors profiting off reserves and price gouging based on supposed “insider information”, which of course were certain gurus pumping up the sales of dinar with the “any second” calls. I was given a courtesy call as I was told, because we weren’t selling anything or profiting from any sales or advertising. I was told this would be a good time to “take a break” and we complied. Shut the site down and moved on with life. Some people did not comply and suffered the consequences when a number of currency resale sites and locations got busted. I can tell you for a fact that several of these places had come to us and offered currency for advertising, which we turned down. This is when several of the gurus were brought up on charges in a few states. Some turned “states evidence” for a reduced sentence (cough, cough, the fantastic hot dog vendor), while others took serious sentences because they violated a number of state laws. Sites are still being monitored and I can promise you that several people will again suffer consequences when things shake out and no “time will tell” statement is going to save them from punitive damages. This is why you don’t see advertising here, no run out and by some more currency calls, or go ahead and just quit that job comments. My information is reviewed and if I make sure I’m here for two main reasons. 1) to make sure there is some accountability for people to see the nonsense that is being spread, and 2) make sure there is still an outlet for people to be reminded to be fiscally responsible before AND after any change in the currency values.

There’s still quite the conversation going on about the head of the CBI, I’ve read a couple things that show he’s reached the mandatory age for retirement and would need an exemption to continue in that role. Of course there are some that say he was “removed” or “oustered” from his role, simply that doesn’t look to be the whole case, just a situation that because of his age they will be making a decision on how to move forward.

And of course, there are still those that continue to spout about bank knowledge:
8-12-2024  MarkZ   …the rumors on the banking side is that by mid-week we could see a schedule –if not actual exchange appointments happening. Cross your fingers and wait to see it this is real. Today and tomorrow should be big for us to find out. Welp, you missed it again, proving yet again, Banks. Don’t. Know. Anything. Why people still cling to the idea that some bank manager in Midland, TX or some other community has some special heads up on goings-on in Iraq.

Hang tight, things are happening, never at the pace we’d like, but progress is moving.
